Provenance prevails at Happerley’s Food Heaven
at Happerley’s Food Heaven
Championing local producers, Happerley is showcasing the region’s
most authentic food and drinks. Launched on 8th April 2018, the
marquee at Andoversford Races hosted local producers, all with proven
provenance. Reassured by traceability, shoppers were encouraged to ‘celebrate
the life of every ingredient’.
With the increased awareness of false provenance claims, foodies
were interested to find out more. Happerley’s first Food Heaven event gives
visitors the chance to purchase genuine local produce. The food provenance
organisation checks and verifies all members. Through validation and
verifications, Happerley’s logo is a sign of 100% provenance. A postcode is no
longer enough to claim ‘local’, transparency of where ingredients are sourced
from is key.
Celtic Marches attended with Lisa Morris, Sales Manager, at
the forefront. Educating the race-goers on our delicious drops which start from
humble beginnings. The cider apples grown on the family farm are transformed
through meticulous methods into a glorious golden drink. The single estate
cider range has complete provenance from start to finish. Only apples from the
family’s Herefordshire farm are used. Awarded with PGI status, the Protected
Geographical Indicator offers the reassurance that this is an authentic
Herefordshire cider. Never from concentrate, Celtic Marches cider consistently
pushes for producer transparency.
The next Happerley Food Heaven event is 15th
April 2018 at Andoversford Races. Supported by Midcounties Co-op, the first
retailer to make Happerley certification on their local produce range, Best of
the Counties, mandatory, these family friendly events are set for further
success as future Food Heaven dates are to be announced soon.
